This major new international treaty, long proposed by the Institute for
the Unification of Private Law (Unidroit) amd UNESCO to provide for those
claiming items stolen abroad or smuggled out of a country access to, and
legal remedy in,  the `holding' or `receiving' country's national
courts for was adopted by the Diplomatic Conference in Rome 7 - 25 June
1995.
