I work in the Sloane Art Library at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. We just received a book of interest to this topic, titled _Living Museums_, by Iain Gale (Boston: Little, Brown, & Co., 1993). I wanted to look at it and tell you more, but unfortunately someone snuck it off the "New Book Shelf" before it was ready and they've checked it out. It has histories of Soane's museum and others, and may be of interest. Edward Baker at Mystic Seaport responded with a title, and having worked at Mystic myself, of course that was the first museum I looked for in this volume, thinking of living history museums. In fact, it focuses on museums people lived in, i.e., houses. Look for it at your nearest library at either NA7123 .G35 1993 or 910.2.
