Item Subject: Message text I'm sorry, but I just don't see what all the fuss is about. The quotes from the historians sound petty to me. The civil war battle sites are several miles from the location where the park is proposed. Sure, it's a small town area and it won't stay that way after the theme park is put in. But I doubt that putting in a theme park will instantly turn the area into another Las Vegas. I lived .5 mile from Disneyland in Anaheim, and other than the crowds on the streets directly surrounding the park on weekend nights and in the summer, there were no problems created. Many of my friends earned good money working there, and they were treated well. A lot of money came into the area because of Disneyland. I also lived about 20 minutes from Magic Mountain, another theme park out here, and I would not say that the area around the park has altered very much at all. They have been there many years, and have grown a great deal. Nobody complains about them being there or about being near the park. It would be different if they were building over Indian burial grounds or something, but it's just land. If the people of the town really don't want Disney to build there, then just deny the building permit. If it's outside the town then it's outside their jurisdiction and they shouldn't worry about it. It's not likely to attract a criminal element or anything. It just seems to be a tempest in a teapot to me. Jerel
