My family and I will be travelling to the East Coast this summer, spending the first week of June in Petersburg, VA with family and the following week in Washington, D.C. at a hotel. While in Petersburg, I plan to take my children (ages 5, 7 & 8) to see the battlefield in Petersburg, then take day trips to Williamsburg and Busch Gardens. My questions are: 1. Are there other notable places in the vicinity of Petersburg, VA (i.e. possible to do a day trip) that would be of interest to children? ******* Please come visit us at the Science Museum of Virginia in Richmond! We have many interactive exhibits, programs, and an Omnimax Theatre and planetarium. Richmond is just an hour away from Petersburg, in the opposite direction from our friends in Williamsburg. While you're here, you might also want to visit the Virginia Museum of Fine ARts, the Valentine Museum (specializing in Richmond history), the Children's Museum, the Museum of the Confederacy, among others. Richmond is a history buff's paradise! Elizabeth Blatt Science Museum of Virginia [log in to unmask]
