Carrie:

My institution has both positions.  In a nutshell, our Registrars do just, they register the collections.  Our Collection Managers manage the collections in terms of movement and storage.  We also have an acquisitions officer who facilitates an acquisition and deals with all the legal issues associated with that.

I will try and drum up some job descriptions for you.

Subject: Job Description info.

I am looking for institutions with both Registrars and Collections Managers.   Currently, my museum only has registrars, but a number of institutions that I have been researching have both positions.  Unfortunately, I haven't been able to locate job descriptions for the two positions.  I am trying to get a feel for how job duties are divided between the two positions and what additional ones may be added.

Would anyone be able to provide me with some job descriptions?

Thanks,

Carrie
