For many years, we have juried our biennial regional exhibition from slides, but are planning to leap into the digital age for the 2007 show.  We would love to hear from institutions who have moved from slides to jpgs for such purposes.  What was the reaction from artists?  Did you encounter any unexpected technical problems?  Did you limit file size and recommend scanning at a particular resolution?  Can you recommend any particular software for showing the images in a way that allows them to be separated into "ins" and "outs" as the jurying process goes along?  We typically review about 1600 slides, and are guessing that perhaps half will now come in digitally.

Thanks for any and all advice.  You can either reply to the list, or send an off-liine e-mail to me or to my assistant (she's the one who actually manages this exhibition).  She is Chiyo Ueyama at [log in to unmask] .
