Dear Listers,

Does any of you have experience of removing chewing gum from an
antique rug? This is a growing problem in our museum, where the
original rugs have to be kept on display - regardless of their
conditions. I was wondering whether anyone can suggest a simple
way of getting rid of the unpleasent stuff. I know that freezing it may be
an option, but I am hoping there might be an easier option.

Thanks for the help.
