Here in Oregon, we've been developing the idea of "Heritage Health," that is the concept that one aspect of a community's health is how well it care for or takes responsibility for its heritage. The concept follows from the ideas that community's have responsibility for public health, public safety, public education, etc. The concept, unfortunately, seems to be running counter to a trend toward privatization of heritage institutions. Any examples or statistics that H-Museum listers could provide regarding the trend toward privatization would be welcome. ========================================================= Important Subscriber Information: The Museum-L FAQ file is located at http://www.finalchapter.com/museum-l-faq/ .
