Please direct all questions to: [log in to unmask] TITLE: School Partnerships Coordinator DEPARTMENT: Education REPORTS TO: Curator of Education TYPE OF POSITION: Exempt, full-time SCOPE OF POSITION: Working under the direction of Director of School and Teacher Programs, the School Partnerships Coordinator will assist in the teaching and coordination of all aspects of the Museum's school partnerships program, which includes: collaborations with teachers at six neighboring public schools, teacher residencies, teacher institutes, curriculum guides, on-line teacher resources, and artist programs. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assisting with the coordination and teaching of the School Partnerships program, a collaboration with six neighboring public schools (Farragut, Boston Latin, Lawrence, Mission Hill, Hennigan and Tobin schools). - Collaborating with teachers to design curricula that integrate classroom studies into museum programs; teaching programs at the Museum and in the classroom, reaching out to parents and families within each school community. - Assisting with the coordination of the Teachers-in-Residence program, which brings pairs of teachers to the Museum each semester (six annually) to create curriculum materials based on the Museum's collection. - Assisting with the coordination of the annual Teacher Institute, teacher workshops, in-service training, teacher web site, teacher publications and teacher residencies. - Assisting with the coordination of programming with artists; working under the direction of the Director of School and Teacher Programs, will collaborate with the Curator of Contemporary Art, the Public Programs Coordinator and the Curator of Education on the development and implementation of education programs with the Museum's Artists-in-Residence. QUALIFICATIONS: - BA in museum education, art history or art education - Strong interactive teaching skills - Experience working with children - Knowledge of schools and educational practices - Familiarity with art-making materials and processes - Strong organizational and interpersonal skills - Able to work on a team - Self-motivated and able to take initiative - Fluency in more than one language a plus (Spanish) - Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and the Web.
