The Association of Midwest Museums is hoping to conduct a survey comparing non-profit museum salaries to salaries in the for-profit arena. As preliminary data, we'd like to know if there are many incidences where people working in museums have left for the for-profit industry because of salary, benefits, or both. Examples of this are special events managers leaving museums to work as corporate events managers because the salary is nearly double.
