Gaston County is currently recruiting for the position listed below. Title: Museum Registrar (Position # AH0007) Location: Gaston County Museum 131 West Main St. Dallas, NC 28034-0429 Pay Scale: $25,468-$39,485 Appointment: Full Time Essential Duties: (Note: The duties listed below are not inclusive of all of the duties that may be assigned to the position but are considered as essential to the nature of the job.) *Compiles and maintains legal documents including accession records, condition reports, conservation records, insurance policies and environmental records. *Responsible for Integrated Pest Management implementation *Facilitates public access to collections in accordance with established policies. *Coordinates collections database projects including software, data standards and data entry. *Assists curator in care and control of collections on and off-site. *Organizes outside services as needed, including conservation, packing and crating, shipping, photographing, and insuring. *Assists curator and exhibit designer with exhibit preparation, installation, and de-installation. *Prepares registration/collections management budget and manages approved budget. *Trains and supervises interns and volunteers. Minimum Education & Experience Requirements: Master's degree in Museum Studies or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have knowledge of Collections data base systems. The candidate selected must undergo and pass a drug screening test prior to employment. Minimum Physical or Ability Requirements: Must be able to work varying work schedules. Physical ability to work from ladder and lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds to/from overhead.
