As someone that has both the CD burner and the zip-drive, I would definitely recommand the CD. The main reason is that using the CD writeable is much more economical, a blank CD costs about $3 (Canadian funds), while a zip disk cost about $20. The CD burner itself is also much cheaper than the zip-drive. In addition, almost all new computers have a CD rom (so files can be read and easily transfered between computers), while the zip-drive is not as popular, so it may be difficult to share files (however, there are portable zip-drive units, whereas CD-rom does not).
