The San Jose Museum of Art is seeking an experienced registrar to manage the
Museum's permanent collection and to coordinate its thriving exhibition
program. Highly demanding full-time position coordinating and processing all
gifts, purchases, and bequests; deaccessioning; condition reporting;
inventory; labeling; general documentation and permanent collection database
maintenance.  Responsible for incoming and outgoing loans, shipping, packing
and insurance arrangements for the permanent collection and traveling
exhibitions. Requirements: strong computer skills, including word
processing, database skills (in PC-based Filemaker), and data entry;
excellent organizational skills and overall attention to detail; strong oral
and written communication skills; ability to be self-motivated, prioritize,
and meet deadlines. Performs related duties as required.  M. A. in museum
studies, art history, or art preferred with minimum three years museum
registrarial experience. Salary commensurate with experience. Submit resume,
