The New York State Museum in Albany, NY is seeking applicants to fill
positions as artifact packers. There are multiple positions available, both
full and part-time. These are all temporary positions through September of
this year.
Job description: Assist with the packing of the museum’s history collection
for relocation in a new storage area within the building. Responsibilities
include packing objects to insure their safe movement, checking and
updating inventory records. Some rehousing and minor surface cleaning of
objects may be required. Possibility of a continuation of positions through
December to assist with moving the collection to the new location.
Qualifications: Prefer some experience in handling museum objects, computer
skills, and good organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively.
Salary: $10.00 per hour
