Like your visit to see the pendulum, we have visitors who miss an entire
room exhibit on a local 19th century photographer (Peter Britt) which was
installed in the 1950s and removed around 1990. Visitors still want to see
the "Britt Room" even though we have limited space to exhibit our other
wonderful collections.

As David Haberstich wrote,  "visitors and
> members of the museum community want it back, they should make their voices
> heard.  I think most of the staff would agree that it's your museum too, and
> it's possible that some of the folks who make the decisions aren't aware that
> people care about this."

Next year we will be removing an exhibit on firearms that has been in place
since 1956! While we have other firearms on display, I'm sure there will be
some comments about the change. Meanwhile, we think the public wants to see
more and more changing exhibits and more and more collections. How to
balance the two??
