Engine cutaways are usually produced by motorcycle manufacturers for
either publicity (motorcycle shows, dealer showrooms, etc.) or in-house
training. Once they become obsolete, they are either archived,
destroyed, or find their way onto the collector market. I would suggest
contacting the national headquarters of various motorcycle manufacturers
or dealership networks, and/or their technical training departments, for
a donation or loan. You might also contact some of the many motorcycle
museums around the country for a possible loan, or post a want-ad in
some of the larger enthusiast newsletters or magazines. A good engine
cutaway would be expensive to make, and original manufacturers' cutaways
are usually excellent.
