Here at my museum, the Yale University Art Gallery, in New Haven, CT, the
artist John Trumbull is buried in our basement, by our storage rooms, with a
floor marker above the grave on the first floor. A collection of his works,
which Yale University acquired in 1832 are considered to be the founding
collection of the Art Gallery. He also gave money to build the building
with the stipulation that he be buried there. Even better, when the Art
Gallery moved into a new building, we moved him with us.
