I have seen numerous attempts in the past 24 hours to post a chain letter to the
list. The basic theme of the chain letter is the notion that a sick/dying child
is in need of an operation and some anonymous company will donate money for each
forward. The letter also states that there is a tracking device on the e-mail.
Please, please, please, do NOT forward such chain letters to the list. These
chain letters may tug on our heart strings to do something good and
compassionate for our fellow human beings, but they are hoaxes. If you receive
a copy of one of this chain letter, please delete it. If you want to know more
about Urban Legends and Folklore on the Internet, there are many sites,
including http://urbanlegends.about.com. For a story similar to the current
postings, check out:

Thank you,
John Chadwick
