Chief of Education. The Smithsonian Institution, National Air and Space
Museum (NASM) seeks
an experienced educator to lead a team in expanding the NASM education
department to the
Stephen F. Udvar-Hazy Center due to open at Dulles International Airport in
2003. We envision
the education function to develop quickly beyond traditional programming to
include partnerships,
programs, and events with school systems, nonprofits, and the regional
community utilizing the latest
in distance learning technology and dedicated on-site facilities to promote
learning in the history and
technology of aeronautics and space sciences for both children and adults.
The successful applicant
will possess a relevant degree, significant experience in non-classroom
learning environments, and a
record of developing innovative educational initiatives involving children
and adults. This is a federal
civil service position. Salary range: $60,890-$79,155. Visit us at:
