Anne,
Hello! I am the Registrar for a Museum in S. FL. Our material primarily
consists of collections and archival material. The majority is archival
material though. Everything has the same numbering system and I am
responsible for accessioning every donation that is accepted by the Curator
and the Collections Committee. We don't have a library aspect to our
collections. We do allow researchers to visit the collections/archives, but
we are not open to the public such as a primarily archival institution might.
We have researchers make appointments in advance. This is especially
helpful as there are only 2 of us in the Collections / Archives Dept., the
Curator (of Collections and Exhibitions) and myself, and we have numerous
"hats" to wear to get everthing accomplished. This is a very brief overview
of how our institution works, so please feel free to contact me for further
information.
Best of Luck,
Ginger M. Young, Registrar
