Believe it or not, more and more libraries are shunning anything but current
paperbacks for resale. A church in a dead coal town near here had its
basement full of books donated (for the presumed illiterate) years and years
ago by generous souls in New England. Our local Rotary arranged to ship
them off to Bangladesh a couple of years ago. I don't recall there being a
thank-you from any source except the church, which was glad to have its
fellowship hall back.
