Subject: open storage of collections
I am interested in any feedback of this way to store collections - pros and
cons. I am a student of Museum Studies working on a major paper due in 3
weeks. I would appreciate any feedback emailed to the above address.
Thanks
Amanda,
I run a program called the Naturalist Center at the Smithsonian Institution.
We are essentially an open storage program... 30,000 natural history objects
specifically assembled for public investigation and study... totally
hands-on and open...
I have attached a copy of a paper I gave to the AAM many years ago... needs
some updating, but should give you a good idea of what the Naturalist Center
is all about. If you can give me a fax number, I can also fax you some
material...
