I agree with Jim Kajput about the video idea.
It is very difficult to focus/see/understand what you are looking at on a
thinsection, and if the audience is to see more than one specimens they
either have to change the slide (risking breakage) or you have to have
multiple scopes.
If you video the sections beforehand you could have multiple views of the
same thinsection with specific items of interest outlined or arrowed on one
version,so the viewer has more chance of understanding what they are
observing. The process would only involve a computer running powerpoint,
after a prior micro-photo session.
Another big advantage would be that more than one person could see the
thinsection at any one time, especially handy with school groups I would
imagine.
