Jim,
I did a little work on Fort Wilkins, when I work for the State Museum. I
remember it had suicide rate of any US military post. The Army Center of
Military History should be able to help. Please Contact Cody Phillips at

Issues of the Army & Navy Journal are fairly common for the Civil War
years, probably less so for the following years. If you want original
issues, try the historical newspaper dealers. Here's some addresses:
Tim Hughes at http://www.rarenewspapers.com
Phil Barber at http://www.historicpages.com/
Ephemera & Paper Collectors Mall at http://www.historybuff.com/mall/
Periodyssey at http://www.periodyssey.com/
Richard Spellman doesn't have a web site but can be reached at

Good luck.
