Keep more than one copy. At my old job, I used to keep mine in buffered
folders in a 2-hour fireproof filing cabinet. Since our old deeds of gift
were fragile (on bad paper from 1939) I also made a Permalife paper copy,
and a working copy that we handled frequently. ALSO, keep a copy offsite,
like at the bank, or in another building of your museum (if you have such a
luxury).

Subject: Storing Deed of Gifts
Do most curators/registrars store their deed of gifts in a fire-proof safe,
in a safety-deposit box at a bank, or in another manner?
As always, thanks for your advice.
