We are undertaking a strategic planning process and seek a consultant to
advise and facilitate the process. Would appreciate recommendations of
individuals or organizations who have proven valuable to other museums.
The Fredericks Sculpture Museum is dedicated to the collection,
exhibition, interpretation, and preservation of the work of Marshall M.
Fredericks (1908-98). Fredericks was a traditional figurative sculptor
who taught at Cranbrook in the 1930s and practiced in Michigan
throughout his life. The museum displays about 200 of his works, most
of them the plaster original models for monumental statuary. The museum
is visited by about 10,000 people annually (half of them K-12) and has
an annual budget of $250,000. Saginaw Valley State University is a
regional university with an enrollment of about 8000, including a
half-dozen graduate (no Ph.D.) programs and a small art dept.
Feel free to reply directly to me or to the museum list.
