FULL TIME POSITION AVAILABLE
Telecommunications Administrator

The Tech Museum of Innovation is an educational resource established to
engage people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and experiencing
technologies affecting their lives and to inspire the young to become
innovators in the technologies of the future.

The Telecommunications Administrator is a full time, exempt position
reporting to the Manager of Information Systems.  Primary emphasis is on
the administration of the Siemens Hicom 300 EX communication server.
Duties include performing moves-adds-changes, bill reconciliation, call
detail reporting, tracking work requests, new staff orientation and
training, and integration of the voice and data networks.

Responsibilities:
1) Plan, implement, support and test the organization's PBX, ACD and
phonemail systems that meet the customer and staff needs for effective
communication.
2) Ensure that all telecom services requests, problems and inquiries are
responded to in a timely manner. Accurately and clearly communicate
information, priority and expectations with customers, vendors, and
management.
3) Perform general telecom administrative functions including billing
reconcilliation, usage reports, documentation and database updates.
4) Provide training for new and current staff on use of the telephone
system and phonemail.
5) Serve as the primary contact for the equipment vendor (Siemens), network
local carrier (Pacific Bell), and long distance provider (MCI WorldCom) to
resolve issues.
8) Assist with other MIS functions on a as-needed basis including: Plan,
implement, and maintain data backup and security systems for workstations,
specialized and standard business applications servers; provide support for
Novell and Microsoft networks, etc.
9) Work as museum's floor staff on assigned weekdays, weekend days and
holidays.
10) Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
*BS in MIS, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or
equivalent.
*Demonstrated knowledge and/or work experience in telecom services, i.e.
cellular, PBX's, phone/voice mail, or network transmissions.
*Experience with Hicom 300 EX, Remote shelf, Optisets, Rolm Phonemail,
Lucent Voicemail (Aspen 250), Interalia, attendant console; IVR a plus.
*1+ year of experience with systems documentation, reporting, and
troubleshooting.
*Excellent organization and communication skills.
*Demonstrated skills in project management and leadership.
*Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workloads while managing
projects.
*Must be reliable and flexible to the museum's needs.
