The Museums At Prophetstown will host the 31st Annual Algonquian Conference
at the University Inn, Lafayette, Indiana on October 28, 29, 30 and 31, 1999.
 The Algonquian Conference provides an opportunity for Native and Non-Native
historians, linguists, anthropologists, archaeologists and ethnographers to
come together, present and discuss their research.  More than 100 papers will
be presented during day-time sessions and will be divided into two,
concurrent tracks: Algonquian Language and Algonquian Culture.  Presenters
will be coming from Canada, Europe, Austrailia, and the United States.  For
