Museum Curator (#00-106AM Historical Museum)
Salary Range: $25,147 to $39,312 annually

Orange County Historical Museum will be opening a new
67,000 square foot regional history center in the fall
of 2000.  The Museum is seeking a hands-on
professional to manage a collection of 40,000+
historical artifacts.

Qualified candidates will be responsible for
cataloging, registration and collection management,
computerization of records, overseeing movement of
collection to the new building and storage area and
environmental monitoring. This position requires a
strong working knowledge of collection management
procedures and strong organizational skills.  The
individual must be self-motivated, have good
communications skills, and be able to handle a variety
of projects simultaneously and be team-oriented.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in history or
related field and two years of progressively
responsible museum work. Master’s Degree in Museum
Studies and minimum of 3 years collection management
preferred.
