If you are interested in the history of American Synagogues, and Jewish
Material Culture I would suggest to look at the website of Congregation
Emanu-El: www.emnuelnyc.org/150.htlm
and click on Historical Pilgrimage, - it gives the sites and buildings
Temple Emanu-El used from 1845 moving up from the Lower East Side to their
present site. You can also see the buildings. They have a Judaica
Collection: the title/author(s) of the book is listed.
