I'd try ice in a plastic bag and an eraser to rub the adhesive off. I haven't tried this on plexiglas, but have used it to remove adhesives from other plastic surfaces. It's cheap and shouldn't cause any damage. If it isn't effective you haven't lost anything but a little time.
