Position Open - Art Packer/Handler.
Responsible for the installation, movement and packing of works of art, including but not limited to: fabrication of specialized crates, object mounts and gallery display furniture; gallery preparation work; installation and deinstallation of special exhibitions; gallery lighting; and any movement of works within the building. Will also perform general carpentry work when necessary and share responsibility for the cleanliness and safety of the carpenter shop. Requires a basic exposure to art history, museum studies and studio art courses with a certificate in archival materials and 3-5 years carpentry and art-handling experience with experience working with plexiglass, drywall and painting and ability to read mechanical drawings and interpret sketches and verbal instructions.
