>Duties and Responsibilities: A federally-funded grant from the Institute
>of Museum and Library Services will support a group of East Central
>Illinois museums and libraries in the creation of an electronic database
>of historical material to serve instruction programs for upper elementary
>school children in three area schools.

>Under the direction of the Coordinator for the Digital Imaging Initiative
>(DII), the DCHC Coordinator is responsible for managing the overall
>planning, implementation of programs, and evaluation of the progress of
>the grant. This position will coordinate all phases of the grant--the
>activities of teachers, librarians, and museum curators from a total of
>seven East Central Illinois institutions with the goal of building and
>testing a framework for digitizing cultural heritage material and
>delivering it through the Web. Specific activities include: conducting
>needs assessment, constructing and maintaining the project web site,
>initiating and summarizing listserv discussions among the seven partners

>The position is a full-time temporary Academic Professional appointment,
>available immediately, with an opening annual salary of $37,000 and upward,
