The American Federation of Arts

Dear Colleague:

We are delighted to inform you that the 90th anniversary edition of the
exhibitions program catalogue from the AFA is now available. The
illustrated catalogue describes the 47 exhibitions organized (or
co-organized) by the AFA to serve its museum members. The catalogue
underscores the AFA's enduring commitment to its original mission,
recounted on pages 4 and 5: that is, to enrich the public's experience
and understanding of art by organizing traveling exhibitions and
providing educational, professional, and technical support.

This year's catalogue presents a rich and diverse program comprising a
wide range of mediums, artists, historical periods, and cultural
traditions, from ancient Egyptian portraiture and Chola bronzes to Dégas
and the dance and contemporary sculpture. In some instances, the AFA
has collaborated with distinguished institutions in the United States
(the Gilcrease Museum, Tulsa, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York,
and the Peabody Essex Museum, Salem); in France (Musée d'Amiens); and in
the United Kingdom (The British Museum, the Dulwich Picture Gallery, and
the National Gallery of Scotland).

Colleagues from professional museums may receive a complimentary copy by
calling the AFA's Department of Museum Services at 800/AFA-0270, ext.
39, by faxing us at 212/861-2487, or emailing us at [log in to unmask]
