I've found this discussion very interesting and I have to say from my
own personal experience.....sometimes it's just luck. One minute I'm
working for Blockbuster and the next I snag a job with the Smithsonian.
The job announcement showed up on the Geosci-jobs listerve, my
B.S.opened the door, my resume got me an interview and the rest was pure
luck as far as I'm concerned. I'm still amazed that I'm here.
