The American Institute for Conservation (AIC) held a very thorough and
helpful workshop preceding the annual meeting in San Diego a couple of
years ago. They not only reviewed the physical properties of light (to
better understand its effect on objects) but also compared and
demonstrated various types of lighting equipment (from incandescent to
fiber optic). The workshop was accompanied by a fat binder full of
information, which I think can still be purchased from the AIC for about
US$50.
