Perhaps the original recipients of the Sally Shelton/John Simmons Christmas
poem simply wished to pass on a treasure that could quickly become a
Christmas classic. I'm sure no one intended any disrepect for the original
"perpetrators." Many of us who have had the good fortune to enjoy this
delightful missive would be happy to try to purchase the authors' affections
or good will with unending praise and a rousing chorus of "We wish you a
merry Christmas!" (original author unknown to me)
