Brigham Young University, Museum of Art
Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent with substantial leadership experience in both academic and museum contexts, in particular teaching and curatorship. Experience in supervising student research and internships. Proven record of exhibition development, research and publication. Experience conceiving and developing museum art collections. Working knowledge of museum practice, ethics, arts law, copyright, and moral rights. Experience in budget conception and management. LDS applicants encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities: Lead curatorial and registration teams in conception, production, presentation and critique of the Museum's exhibition program and collection development. Train personnel in curatorial/registration skills. Collaborate with Museum leadership in construction and implementation of policy. Identify, construct and manage budgets and planning procedures. Identify, locate, authenticate, and purchase works for permanent collection. Research and publish scholarship, and teach in formal academic context. Establish and maintain professional associations, and collaborate with Museum leadership in overall development of the Museum.
