Dear Group,
I am trying to get the dimensions of an exhibition space at The Geffen
Contemporary in Los Angeles. The space contained the site-specific
installation by Robert Gober which included a figure of the Virgin pierced
by a culvert. I left a telephone message when I placed a call to the
curator, Paul Schimmel, but he did not return my request for information.
The website does not include e-mail addresses. My campus does not have a
copy of the exhibition catalog (the exhibition was titled "Robert Gober")
and although I have placed an Inter-Library Loan request, I am afraid I will
not receive the information in time for a presentation at the end of March.
Moreover, I do not even know if the catalogue contains the dimensions of the
site I am looking for. I also tried our Architecture Library for resources
concerning the building itself, but I was only able to find bits and pieces
concerning the entire building, and I do not know which space the exhibit
was placed within.
Any leads, or actual information you are able to provide me concerning this
exhibit and its space will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Carol Carpenter Riggles
