I think the emphasis in this sentence is *primarily* interested in money...
if I were *primarily* interested in money, then I would have gone to law
school like my pop counselled. But I'm *primarily* interested in enjoying
my job and participating in informal education in the community. So here I
am. John is also correct in saying that we would all like better rewards
for our work, but clearly we're not here because it's the road to fabulous
wealth and riches.
