Opening is November 11, 1999. Beginning early spring 2000, the collections will be moved into state of the art storage space within the Station. The Museum’s collections encompass a broad range of collection groups natural history, archaeological, Native American, foreign ethnographic, art and historical which results in nearly 60,000 three-dimensional objects, and archival collections of 245,000 photos, television news film, maps, manuscripts, ephemera and other materials. Registrar is responsible for the care and documentation of the Kansas City Museum's collections. The registrar processes and accessions acquisitions, creates and maintains all collection records, manages electronic collections management system, inventories collections, oversees artifact movement including coordination of exhibition loans, transportation, insurance, and identifies and initiates grant proposals to fund collection documentation initiatives.  Qualifications Master's degree in liberal arts, anthropology, history or museum studies. Must have two year experience in museum registration. Also must have experience in the handling, transportation, insurance requirements and storage of collections as well as experience with legal issues relating to NAGPRA, governing rights, reproductions, licensing, and copyrights. Reports to Collections Manager.
