The National Capital Campaign Office of the National Air and Space Museum (NASM)
is responsible for securing funding for the building of the Museum's Dulles
Center to be located in Virginia at the Dulles Airport. The incumbent reports
to the Campaign Director and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the
administrative aspects of the office. The incumbent manages and supervises the
support work provided to the Campaign, Membership Program, the Development
Office, and marketing function. This includes serving as the Division's primary
liaison and coordinator for personnel actions, facilities management, budgetary
management, and procurement of office equipment and supplies. The incumbent
sets goals and direction for the office support staff, making assignments,
determining work priorities and reviewing completed work for accuracy and
conformance to policy; serves as primary contact point regarding personnel
actions; analyzes work space and office equipment requirements and makes
recommendations on requests; coordinates procurement for supplies and equipment;
assists Supervisor in the preparation of the annual budget and monitors
expenditures against authorizations; and serves as Personal Assistant to the
Campaign Director, arranging meetings and conferences, serving as liaison
between the Director and campaign donors and as principal office contact for
phone callers, reviewing and controlling all correspondence, and drafting
replies to correspondence that can be handled personally.

1. Knowledge of administrative procedures and practices.
2. Skill in coordinating the clerical and administrative work of an office.
3. Skill in dealing with a wide range of high level individuals.

1. Ability to supervise subordinate clerical staff.
2. Skill in preparing requests and justifications for funds for an office or
program budget.
3 Ability to make cost analyses and project operating costs.
4. Skill in setting up and maintaining financial records and systems to monitor
and evaluate use of funds.
