I have heard rumblings from a number of people in the USA to the effect that
the Air & Space Museum at the Smithsonian is either planning a new building
on the Mall or moving to a new building at another site (Dulles airport has
been mentioned).
I am aware of the problems that have been encountered throughout the history
of the current building and can understand why they would want a new
building, but would like to know if there is any basis to the rumours? If
so, can anyone tell me what is happening and who might be responsible for a
redevelopment project (if there is one!)?
If this all so much rumour, my apologies for wasting everyone's time.
Thanks,
Harry
