Kent County Council has received lottery funding to put together a cd-rom
history of the county to mark the millennium. the completed product will be
accessible and interesting to ordinary people, and will tell the history
through periods and themes, using museum objects, archive documents, maps,
film, oral history etc.
Two new jobs are being created for this project;
1 a project manager, f/t for 18 months to sort out the content, oversee
research and liase with programmers etc as well as lokking at commerical
distribution and publicity
2 a project researcher p/t for 12 months to research and collate relevant
information and work with project manager to make it happen.
There has already been a positive response from local people & media, so I
think it should work out to be an interesting project and a good opportunity
for some one....
If you're interested, reply to me off-list and I'll mail you the details,
Jane Sarre
Assistant Museums Advisor
