> Washington, DC - The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is
> pleased to announce the appointment of Alice Rae Yelen, an accomplished
> museum professional, to its National Museum Services Board (NMSB). Ms.
> Yelen was appointed by President Clinton and confirmed by the U.S. Senate
> to serve on this federal advisory board. She was sworn in at a board
> meeting on May 14 in Kansas City, Missouri. As a member of the board she
> will be providing policy advice to IMLS, an independent grantmaking

> Ms. Yelen is the Assistant to the Director for Special Projects at the New
> Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) where she originates exhibitions, writes
> catalogues, and coordinates traveling exhibitions. Prior to her

> Yelen was the Chief Curator of Education for NOMA for 6 years. As Chief
