Assistant/Associate Registrar
The Maryland Historical Society is seeking an experienced,
detail-oriented, assistant/associate registrar to manage its acquisition
and loan programs. Required skills: experience coordinating all aspects
of borrowing and lending objects, including condition reports, handling
and/or packing of objects, and shipping arrangements; experience
maintaining manual and computerized file systems; experience overseeing
off-site storage; participate in exhibition teams; strong interpersonal,
oral and written skills; ability to set priorities and to meet firm
deadlines.
Successful candidate must have a B.A. or M.A. in American history,
anthropology, or museum studies; a minimum of three years museum
registration experience; and proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS
Access.
