Greetings.
Regarding the recent postings on change of ownernship of collections
(i.e. historical society to city) does this imply a trend, i.e. a
resurgance of the development of civic or municipal (local authority)
museums? Some years ago I did a study of municipal museums in Canada
and subsequently my PhD. on the same topic. I am wondering now if this
is worth revisiting, in the academic sense - perhaps with a journal
article as a result, in relation to the collections issue and to the
general development of such museums?
