I posted the idea of using students - and I have to defend my posting.
There are many talented students, trying to gain work experience. They
charge commensurate to the amount of experience they have. Coming from a
University campus museum, we have always felt that it is important to
encourage young people, and to give them valuable work experience ( I
assume most of us remember being in their position).
They have every right to compete in the work world, just as starting
museum professionals do. I hardly consider utilizing their talents, at
whatever price - high or low - taking food out of the mouths of anyone.
Of course, if they have not proven their skills, why would you consider
them in the first place?
