Try Sheldan Collins, "How to Photograph Works of Art"
(Amphoto/Watson-Guptill Publications, NY 1992, ISBN 0-8174-4019-4) for a
good introduction to camera controls, backdrops, and lighting for large
and small two- and three-dimensional objects.
