Add one more voice...do not throw away old records. When I began placing
the library collection on-line, I kept the card catalog. It was was
woefully incomplete and should be used only in an emergency. Unfortunately,
people have refused to learn how to use the computer and therefore, unable
to have complete access to the collections. Now the volunteers and interns
are having to make a hard copy to the collections, but only the library
manager knows how to use the system! So make sure you make a complete hard
copy from the on-line system - everyone is correct. Computers crash,
freeze, freak out and have a malaise from time to time. Good luck!
